2025 Riesling
Mount Barker Riesling, grown on nearly 27 year old vines.
Campbell Mattinson
Perfumed on the nose, fruitful on the palate, dry, structured and well sustained. This is an attractive riesling – good for drinking now but well-suited to spending a few years in the cellar. The main flavours are lemon, brine, tonic water and wet slate but floral aromas and hints of gooseberry on the palate add both breadth and interest. Everything here is nicely done, and it’s not hard to see it developing well too.

Winemaking:
Riesling is a variety that is naturally balanced, at the time that it is harvested it has great natural acidity – it’s crisp, elegant and beautiful. The vineyard we source our fruit from has predominantly Geisenheim clone which lends itself to flavours of citrus, unripe stonefruit and apricot.
When handling Riesling we filter the juice to a brightness before fermentation, to ensure there is no interference from any solids which can detract from the aromas and flavour in aromatic varietals such as this.

Ray Jordan WA Wine Review
This is a slightly riper and more generous style of riesling, especially on the nose, where you pick up more opulent notes of stone fruit and a little honey-like nectar. Yet the palate tightens up as it should, revealing a minerally, spicy character, with citrus tangs building. It has a fine talcy acidity and the flavour and palate are long. It’s a nice wine, especially in the medium term.

Cyndal Petty for Winepilot
Riper in style — rich even, for a Great Southern Riesling. Cumquat skin, lemon sherbet and musk sticks. The palate is much the same — mandarin oil, salted tangerine and tiny Italian oranges. The acid is raw and invigorating, abundant enough to promise a small ageing window. Drink cold.
