2018 The Sailor Cabernet Shiraz

This wine is dedicated to lovers of the sea, those who always have their eye on the horizon, are fearless at heart and have a thirst for adventure. It’s also in memory of Geoffrey and the many happy times spent on the water together.

Garnet in colour. Plums and blackberries give attractive bouquet backed by complex cedary notes.
Full and rich palate with wonderful balance and weight. Juicy fruits fill the front palate, while the firm Cabernet tannins give drive and structure to the palate. Smooth with gentle oak this wine can be enjoyed by itself or with most meals.

Two thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, one third Shiraz. Both varieties crushed and destemmed, Cabernet Sauvignon to open fermenters, Shiraz to a closed fermenter for fermentation. Cabernet Sauvignon was matured in French oak for 10 months, Shiraz saw 6 months. Barrel selected and blended just before bottling, a third new oak.
