2022 The Sailor Cabernet Shiraz

This wine is dedicated to lovers of the sea, those who always have their eye on the horizon, fearless at heart, with have a thirst for adventure. Made in memory of Phil’s father, Geoffrey, and the many happy times spent on the water together.

A red blend to warm you up after a day spent out on the water. Aromas of dark berries jump from the glass; this wine fills the palate with juicy plums, black cherry, and a hint of warming anise spice. It is balanced with a fine, smooth tannin structure, giving the wine a long, drying finish.

Winemaking:

Two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, one-third Shiraz. Both varieties were crushed and destemmed, Cabernet Sauvignon to open fermenters, Shiraz to a closed fermenter for fermentation. Cabernet Sauvignon was matured in French oak for 10 months, and Shiraz saw 6 months. Barrel selected and blended just before bottling, a third new oak.
