These lighter-bodied, elegant, and quite delicate chardonnays have been very good from Monty’s Leap. This is certainly delicate, but 100% barrel fermentation with about 25% new and time on lees has produced a textured fine chardonnay with a beautifully defined palate. Nectarine and other stone fruits with a light buttery cashew character are lifted by a saline acidity.
