2023 Pinot Noir

Sourced from the Two People’s Bay vineyard in Nanarup, grown on 27-year-old vines.

Ray Jordan WA Wine Review

This is a lovely fruit-driven style of pinot noir, with bright red fruits showing primary notes of wild strawberry and raspberry, and just a faint hint of sour cherry. The texture is fine and quite delicate, yet there is a deep intensity here as it wraps up with subtle oak, fine tannins, and a nice acidity to harness and carry through to a long finish. Great mouthfeel, with those dry, savory tannins on the finish.

Cyndal Petty for Winepilot

Charming and gentle. Cranberry, maraschino cherry and strawberry purée. The palate glides — graceful and flowing — with fine, integrated tannins that frame the wine, ever so lightly. More berries and dried sticks follow. It’s the safe family Pinot — solid job, no surprises, just honest fruit and good manners. Good length too.

It tastes like Pinot Noir, it feels like Pinot Noir, it finishes well and it’s good to drink. Lots of boxes ticked here. Sweet-cherry flavours, stewed strawberries, earth, toast, dried herbs and cedarwood all get a healthy look in here. There’s a slip of satin to the mouthfeel, and good freshness throughout. The tannin framework suggests that this wine should age well over the next few years too.
