The Autumn Vineyard: Nature’s Palette on Display
There’s something truly special about visiting a Great Southern winery in autumn. Here at Monty’s Leap, the vines are responding to the drop in temperature just as they should. Leaves turn brilliant shades before gently falling to the ground, an essential part of the vine’s journey into dormancy. This cycle ensures a healthy, balanced crop for the next vintage.
From our cellar door and restaurant, guests can take in the stunning autumn colours of the vineyard — a view that is as breathtaking as it is fleeting. There’s a peacefulness in the air, a sense of promise for what’s to come next season.

At the heart of this season’s offerings is the Appleshed Red, a beautiful blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. This wine has been turning heads, recently earning glowing praise from Wine Selectors:
“Attractive deep red purple colour. Fresh aromas of pepper, plum, black cherry & toasty oak. Ripe, juicy & fruit-driven, with a fleshy core of concentrated dark fruit, layers of graphite-like tannins, silken mouthfeel, deluxe charry oak, and a long, slippery finish.”
